Eligibility:
Long-term camp reservations are only available to Crockango Club members. This includes free camping for up to 6 people on your designated campsite for one calendar year.
-
Payment:
To apply for a new long-term reservation, you must pay a once-off campsite fee plus an annual levy. The annual levy must be paid each year until you cancel your long-term reservation.
-
Reservation Period:
Campsites are available for long-term reservation from January to the end of February of the following year. If the annual levy is not renewed by the end of February, your long-term reservation will be cancelled.
-
Renewal Priority:
Current occupants of a campsite from the previous year will have the first option to renew their campsite for the next calendar year.
-
Misconduct and Expulsion:
Misconduct by you or your additional campers can result in losing your renewal priority or being expelled from your campsite.
-
Subleasing:
You may not sublease your campsite or charge others to use it.
-
Campsite Improvements:
You are allowed to make the following improvements at your own expense:
- Build a braai or kitchen unit (a shower unit may be added to the kitchen unit).
- Install a water connection to your campsite.
- Build a concrete floor with an overhead roof structure for tents.
These improvements must follow Crockango Angling Club's regulations and pre-approved plans. All improvements become the property of the Crockango Angling Club.
- Approval: All alterations must be approved by the committee.
- Refunds: The cost of the braai, kitchen unit, and water connection can be confirmed with the committee. These costs will be refunded to you when the club has the finances to do so.
-
Trees and Landscaping:
You may plant indigenous trees on your campsite, but you must consult the committee before doing so. No trees may be removed without the committee’s permission.
You also have the option to have a lawn planted by the Crockango Club. Please consult the current committee for details about lawn planting.
-
Levy Adjustments:
Once fixtures are built and refunded, your annual levy will be adjusted starting from the next renewal application. Members can choose to have their levies deducted annually from the credit amount for approved fixtures.
-
Shower Units:
Shower units will not be refunded and remain the member’s responsibility for maintenance. If you decide to cancel your membership and long-term lease, the value of the shower unit will be calculated over a 10-year depreciation period. Any remaining value for the unexpired years will be paid out to you. After 10 years, the unit is considered fully paid back.
-
Front Row Campsites:
Front row campsite occupants may build an erosion wall to level the ground, following Crockango Club specifications.
-
Unoccupied Campsites:
If you are not using your campsite on a specific weekend or day, Crockango may rent it out temporarily.
-
Purpose:
Long-term reservations are for the development of the Crockango campgrounds. No individual may financially benefit from this system.
